The text of Roland Barthe’s Mythologies is fed into an IBM-PC computer and the exact number of characters is calculated in order to discover a ‘very big number.’ The characters are then converted into 87,686,445 pixels; the defined area in the drawing represent all the pixels joined together. The typewriter font had ten (10) characters per inch.
